Prince Harry has been targeted amid reports of a judge warning that his time in the US is potentially limited due to a sordid history with Meghan Markle and Donald Trump.
It is in reference to Prince Harry and Doreen Lawrence’s High Court case against The Mail, and the warning relates to “serious allegations” of phone hacking that the Duke is making.
Branded ‘baseless’, Mr Justice Nicklan called on Shahi to come up with “acceptable evidence” of such an allegation, or face withdrawal.
It is worth noting that the financial impact of the case is estimated at £38 million.
The trial date is currently January 14, 2026, and at least one of the charges “could be career-ending and lead to possible criminal prosecution — so it can’t be more serious,” according to the judge.
So speaking to the claimants’ barrister, David Sherborne, it was said that ‘as part of general case management’, ‘when serious allegations are made, it is firstly necessary to include them, and secondly to deal with them appropriately. It has to be done. and fairly reflects the underlying content.”
He also admitted, “You understand that the rules regarding such allegations, which are serious allegations, must be clearly presented and the claimants must have admissible evidence for the allegation, or that There would be reasonable grounds to assume that this evidence would be available at trial.”
So “if there is no evidence available at trial, it will be withdrawn,” Mr Justice Nicklin added near the end before signing off.
