Prince Harry apparently dashed Princess Kate’s dream of a family reunion with a heartbreaking statement.
For the unversed, the Duke of Sussex recently attended The New York Times‘ Annual Deal Book Summit.
During the sit-in interview, the former working royal once again ruled out returning to the UK with his wife Meghan Markle and children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilybet.
Recalling bitter memories of his childhood, Harry said, “What happened to my mother and the fact that I was a child and felt helpless, created an inner turmoil. I felt helpless. Just felt it. One of my biggest weaknesses is helplessness.”
“What worried me the most was what would happen to me or my wife or my children,” he added.
Now, the Wells are discussing the impact of Harry’s statement on the family, particularly Kate Middleton, just hours before his annual Christmas carol concert.
In conversation with the sunroyal expert Katie Nicholl praised Catherine’s role as a “peacemaker” in the rift between Harry and Prince William.
“I remember watching that moment at the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral,” she said.
The royal observer added, “Kate brought William and Harry up the hill together. When they weren’t talking, she was seen playing the role of peacemaker.”
Katie believes Harry threw Kate under the bus by saying “hurtful” things about her and “bringing the kids into the narrative”.
Despite the Duke’s displeasure, the royal expert said the Princess of Wales would play a healing role between the Sussexes and the royal family.
