Prince George marked a special milestone moment with his father Prince William as the royal family celebrated their annual Christmas bash at Sandringham.
Following in the footsteps of his ‘role model’ father, the young prince was first inducted in a beloved tradition in place of his uncle Prince Harry.
Before the Christmas walk on Wednesday, the father-son duo teamed up with Sandringham estate workers and nearby villagers for a pre-Christmas football match.
Meanwhile, Kate Middleton, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis cheered on the team from the sidelines.
“It just seemed like a healthy father-son bonding time,” an insider said the sun “There were other kids playing and it was all good fun and lighthearted.”
“It’s good that he’s back to participate in a traditional game because he hasn’t done that in years,” the source noted.
However, the insider also said it was “interesting” that Prince Harry “has now been replaced by Prince George.”
