Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson apparently sparked a row with King Charles with their unexpected move.
For the uninitiated, the Duke and Duchess of York pulled out of the event to join the royal family during their Christmas walkabout at Sandringham following Andrew’s spying scandal.
However, the former couple were spotted in Windsor minutes before the King’s speech, sparking fresh controversy over their surprise move.
The King’s pre-recorded speech was broadcast on December 25 at 3 pm. Just 15 minutes before the monarch’s annual message, Andrew was seen leaving his home, Royal Lodge, with Fergie.
It has been said that Andrew and Sarah’s decision has not been viewed well by the royal family as the two reportedly tried to draw attention away from a major royal event.
It is worth noting that Andrew once again cast the royal family in a negative light for their involvement with an alleged spy, who has been banned from the UK.
Amid this renewed tension, royal experts claim the Duchess of York may have advised her former partner to avoid spoiling the royal family’s Christmas celebrations with her appearance.
