An officer of District Korangi Police, working as police post in-charge, has been dismissed for aiding and abetting criminals.
Sub-inspector Rao Fayyaz Ahmed, former in-charge of Tasweer Mahal police post, who was transferred to B Company, has been dismissed after being found to be the patron of criminals.
He was accused of conniving with drug dealers and other criminals. He was also accused of facilitating the supply of gutka and other illegal substances. A confidential report against Fayyaz revealed that during his posting in District Korangi, he patronized Gutka Mawa mafia, betel peddlers, drug dealers, land grabbers and street criminals. His private associate Bashir used to receive a weekly allowance from him.
He also supported a street criminal Naeem alias Boss and a drug dealer named Ramsha. An inquiry committee found him guilty of the charges. DIG Finance Tanveer Alam Odhu was appointed as the inquiry officer who confirmed all the allegations leading to Fayaz’s dismissal.
