Police have released images of 19 people they want to speak to over a mass disturbance ahead of the Scottish League Cup final in Glasgow.
Violence and disorder broke out in the city center ahead of the match between Celtic and Rangers at Hampden Park on Saturday 15 December.
Footage on social media showed a large group of fans, some wearing Santa hats and face coverings, charging down Argyll Street and dousing the flames before kick-off.
The force has urged anyone who recognizes the images. Contact them.
Anyone who has seen the disorder in the city center is also asked to get in touch.
Video taken that day showed a large group of fans passing through the city center at around 13:00, escorted by the police.
However, violence soon broke out, with one group charging down Argyll Street towards Trongate.
Shoppers can be seen screaming and running indoors to avoid the rush.
Footage online showed a football fan falling to the ground as others ran around him. After a while, a fire broke out near the door of a shop.
An officer was then seen using his baton on several passing fans.
One shopper told BBC News they were forced to take shelter in a nearby shop “for their own safety”.
CCTV footage from Gallagher’s Bar on Howard Street showed a masked man being punched in the face by Celtic supporters as he tried to enter the pub.
Moments later a flame was thrown through the door as fans charged down the street outside.
During the disturbance, a Police Scotland officer was injured after being thrown a missile and a 26-year-old man was also taken to hospital after being seriously assaulted.
Officers were empowered to exercise stop and search powers, including removing items used to conceal identity.
Later, a fire broke out during the match itself.
Celtic won the cup 5-4 on penalties in a 3-3 draw against Rangers.
First Minister John Sweeney described the behavior of a “minority of fans” as “totally unacceptable”.
He added: “It caused fear and anxiety and alarm for people who were enjoying their Christmas shopping before the football game.
“Clubs have got a responsibility to make sure their fans behave appropriately.”
