KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said that amid the ongoing cold wave in the city in recent days, strong winds are likely to blow intermittently in the port city from tomorrow.
The Meteorological Department said the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 13 degrees Celsius and is expected to be 10 to 12 degrees Celsius at night.
Meanwhile, the port city has a humidity level of 35 percent and winds blowing from the northeast at a speed of six kilometers per hour.
On the weather forecast in other parts of Sindh, the PMD said that the mercury is likely to drop by 3 degrees Celsius to 4 degrees Celsius during the night in southeast Sindh.
The temperature in the upper and central areas of Sindh is likely to be 3 degrees Celsius to 5 degrees Celsius lower than normal.
Karachi has been experiencing a cold spell for several days and last week the temperature dipped to single digits at 9.1 degrees Celsius.
While the northern and northwestern districts of Balochistan are also experiencing severe cold.
The Department of Meteorology says that the cold affected areas include Quetta, Ziarat, Mastung, Kalat, Pashin, Zhob and Qila Abdullah.
Several areas recorded below freezing point mercury including Quetta (-4°C), Kalat (-6°C), Dalbandin (-5°C) and Nokundi (-3°C).
