Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for “severe measures” after the opposition Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) called off several of its planned protests in Islamabad, which have left the country’s economy in “tumult”. “Did it.

Prime Minister Shehbaz’s comments came after a violent PTI protest in Islamabad that saw clashes between party supporters and law enforcers, closure of roads and educational institutions.
Talking about the economic crisis, the Prime Minister said businesses were closed while workers and shopkeepers were complaining.
“Our stock exchange, which had crossed 99,000, suffered a total drop of 4,000 points due to the riots,” he lamented. The economy is losing 190 billion rupees daily.
Prime Minister Shehbaz then stressed the need to rid the country of agitation politics and take tough decisions to ensure stability.
Addressing the federal cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the prime minister said that we have to decide whether we save Pakistan or allow the sit-ins.
The Prime Minister said that no one had thought of attacking Islamabad before, he emphasized that now tough decisions will have to be taken through mutual consultation.

Recalling the time when the party founded by Imran Khan staged a dharna in 2014, Prime Minister Shehbaz said the rioters had been violent for 126 days when the Chinese president had to visit the country. However, he added, “the visit was postponed due to the riots”.
He further highlighted that the rioters once again tried to create chaos ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in the capital.

Throwing light on the visit of the Belarusian President to Pakistan, the Prime Minister said that the two countries will sign agreements in January.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is suffering from the rise of terrorism, adding that dozens of people were martyred in the clashes.
