“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus is to improve the services of general class coaches. As part of the exercise, 1000 more general coaches will be added by the Railways by the end of December. Our focus is on general coaches instead of AC Sec. But more. Or AC third-class coaches,” he said during the question break.
The Minister said that Indian Railways is doing 1,300 stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme as part of its redevelopment project, which is considered to be the largest in the world. He said that under this scheme, several stations will be reconstructed at a cost of Rs 700-800 crore, while some others will be reconstructed at a cost of Rs 100-200 crore.
When this project is completed, it will live up to the expectations of the people as it aims to expand and modernize railway stations across the Indian railway network.
Responding to two other questions, Vishnu asked MPs from Kerala and Tamil Nadu to coordinate with the respective state governments to help the railways in acquiring land to complete the planned projects.
