PESHAWAR: Two separate benches of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday directed the federal government to provide details of the cases registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders within seven days.
The court also granted bail to Special Assistant Sohail Afridi, Member National Assembly Iqbal Afridi, Sajid Khan and Raja Basharat till December 23. The PHC division bench comprising Justice SM Atiq Shah and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah told PTI Heard the requests of the leader. Hamza, Hamida Shah, Adil Bazai and Ali Zaman advocate sought details of the case against them.
The petitioners’ lawyer, Alam Khan Udin Zai, requested the court to provide the details of all the registered cases against their clients to the relevant authorities, however, Deputy Attorney General Sanaullah told the court that the petitioners will be sent to the relevant courts after obtaining bail. I did not appear. .
On which Justice SM Atiq Shah remarked that the jail is being opened at night if anyone is to be arrested and detained, he directed the authorities to submit a report detailing all the cases against the petitioners within seven days. go
Justice Sahibzada Asadullah remarked that the court will order the petitioners to appear in the respective courts after the report is submitted, the court remarked that the petitioners have a fundamental right to be provided with details of the cases against them.
The DAG assured the court that the report would be submitted and requested the court to order the petitioners to appear before the concerned courts. Similarly, the bench headed by Justice Waqar Ahmed heard PTI leader and Special Assistant Sohail Afridi’s bail pleas. Member National Assembly Iqbal Afridi, Adil Bazai and Farah Agha.
The petitioner’s lawyer argued that cases have been registered against them in Islamabad while Adil Bazai also faced a first information report in Quetta. He pleaded that he was an MNA but was de-seated and is now contesting the by-election. However, he was not allowed to participate in his election campaign. He argued that the petitioners are afraid of being arrested before appearing in court. The court granted their bail till December 23 and issued an order not to arrest the petitioners till then in registered cases.
