Centurion: Pakistan have their eyes on early wickets on the fourth day of the first Test against South Africa, who resumed their second innings 27-3 on Sunday.
Captain Temba Bauma (1*) and Aiden Markram (22*) will aim to chase down the 148-run target set by the Shan Masood-led side in the first match of the two-match Test series.
The series is part of the ICC World Test Championship.
Pakistan need seven wickets while South Africa need 121 runs to win the match and take the lead in the series.
A day earlier, Mohammad Abbas and Khurram Shahzad struck early in the innings and put the home side under severe pressure. Former opener Tony de Zorri was dropped, and the latter sacked his replacement Ryan Rickelton.
Abbas struck again and removed Tristan Stubbs from the pitch while danger man Markram stayed on the ground and was supported by captain Bovuma.
Earlier, Marco Johnson took six wickets in Pakistan’s second innings and the men in green were bowled out for 237 against South Africa’s first innings total of 301.
