LAHORE: National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Chairman Lt. Gen. Munir Afsar represented Pakistan at the TRUSTEC 2024 exhibition in Paris.
The exhibition started on Tuesday and will continue till December 5. Pakistan Ambassador to France Asim Iftikhar visited NADRA Pavilion.
Munir Afshar gave an overview of NADRA’s technological innovations, with the aim of focusing on technological self-reliance, enhancing operational efficiency and expanding coverage for better delivery of public services.
On display in the pavilion is a range of indigenous biometric and identity document processing equipment, including self-service kiosks, all-in-one enrollment kits, handheld tablets for authentication and IRIS cameras. Each device is designed to ensure strong and efficient identity verification. NADRA has played a significant role in building Pakistan’s digital public infrastructure by collaborating in various sectors aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Its services include national identity documents, mobile banking, e-governance, health and education initiatives and social security programs, such as disaster relief and subsidy schemes.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar appreciated NADRA’s extensive contribution to digital identity, emphasizing its role in empowering citizens and connecting people globally. NADRA Chairman and Ambassador Iftikhar met international exhibitors and explored new opportunities for cooperation.
Trustech 2024 will attract over 8,000 attendees with 200 exhibitors and 30 international partners showcasing the latest in digital identity and payment technologies. NADRA’s participation in the event underscores Pakistan’s commitment to advancing its digital infrastructure while fostering key partnerships for future growth.
