The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced the playing XI for the third and final match between the Green Shirts and Zimbabwe with four line-up changes.
The third match will be played tomorrow (Thursday) at Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo.
The men in green have won the three-match series against Zimbabwe 2-0. The national team won the first match by 57 runs and the second match by 10 wickets.
Sahibzada Farhan, Qasim Akram, Mohammad Hasnain and Arafat Minhas have been included in the playing XI in place of Saeem Ayub, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Abrar Ahmed and Haris Rauf.
The move is part of the Green Shirts’ strategy to test their bench strength ahead of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy.
The visiting team, who entered the ongoing series carrying the burden of their clean sweep defeat against Australia last month, got back to winning ways by defeating Zimbabwe in the first two matches.
The Green Shirts won the opening match by 57 runs before completely outclassing Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the second T20I, which saw a number of records broken.
Batting first, Zimbabwe’s batting unit opened for a paltry 57 runs despite a good start provided by their openers Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani.
The home side suffered the worst defeat by a full member in the men’s T20Is and reached their lowest total in the format.
In reply, Pakistan raced to victory in just 33 balls to record the biggest victory in a T20I involving two full-member teams, in terms of balls remaining.
