KARACHI: Pakistan Juniors easily defeated China by 2 goals to 7 in the first match of Men’s Junior Asia Hockey Cup 2024 held in Oman, Muscat.
Forward Fayaz Hamza scored the first goal in the 17th minute to open Pakistan’s account. The Pakistani forwards continued to attack which resulted in the second goal when penalty corner specialist Sufyan Khan scored the second goal in the 22nd minute. A minute later Pakistan Junior Hockey team scored the third goal when Fayaz Hamza scored in the 23rd minute.
The fourth goal for Pakistan was scored by Muhammad Imad in the 43rd minute, the fifth goal by Rana Waleed in the 46th minute, the sixth goal by Muhammad Sufyan Khan on a penalty corner in the 50th minute and the seventh goal by Muhammad Mughira in the 51st minute.
The first goal for China was scored by Yanyu in the 24th minute and the second goal was scored by Yubo in the last minutes of the game.
Manager Pakistan Junior Hockey Team Ajmal Khan Lodhi when contacted in Amman, Muscat after the match against China expressed his satisfaction with the overall performance of Pakistan team but not satisfied with the ratio of goals to PCs as Pakistan got 6 PCs but Failed to score. 2 goals. The manager said the forwards played well, scoring many goals through attacking play, and also getting a number of PCs.
