ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Pakistan to China Khalilur Rehman Hashmi has said that the relations between Pakistan and China are getting stronger and stronger.
Mr. Hashmi was delivering the keynote address at an in-house round table discussion on “Pakistan-China Relations” organized by the Institute of Strategic Studies (ISS) here. He presented a comprehensive analysis of China’s rise, Beijing’s engagement with the region and the world, and the current state of play in bilateral relations.
Mr. Hashmi also highlighted the efforts of the Pakistani mission in Beijing to provide more depth and substance to the trade, investment and economic dimensions of the relationship. He referred to the visits of prime ministers, ministerial talks and country visits of the armed forces to each other, including the Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China.
Participants engaged in a wide-ranging exchange of ideas during the interactive session, highlighting the importance of sustainable collaboration, improving business-to-business (B2B) interfaces and enhancing people-to-people exchanges. Participants emphasized the critical importance of policy foresight and preparation to maximize the potential of this important partnership in a changing global system. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to further strengthen Pak-China relations in the light of contemporary challenges and opportunities.
