Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by 99 runs in the third one-day international at the Queen’s Sports Club, Bulawayo on Thursday to clinch the series 2-1.
Earlier, the Green Shirts won the toss and elected to bat first against the hosts.
Kamran Ghulam’s maiden century, followed by a combined bowling effort, led Pakistan to a stunning victory in the ODI series decider against Zimbabwe.
Chasing a tough target of 304, the home side managed just 204 runs despite a valiant half-century from skipper Craig Irvine.
Zimbabwe made a shaky start in the run chase as they collapsed to 10/2 inside three overs.
After the slump, Irvine joined hands with Tadewanashe Marumani and forged a cautious 39-run partnership, which lasted until the latter’s dismissal in the ninth over.
Irvine was then involved in another key partnership, when he put on 41 runs for the fourth wicket with Shaun Williams before finally falling to Aamir Jamal in the 26th over.
He was the top scorer for Zimbabwe with 51 runs off 63 balls with five fours and a six.
Opting to bat first, the touring side scored 6/303 in the allotted 50 overs thanks to a brilliant innings by Kamran and Abdullah Shafiq.
The visitors got off to a solid start, with openers Saeem Ayub and Abdullah putting on a strong 58-run partnership.
The opening pair looked in complete control until Saim fell to Faraz Akram in the 13th over.
The centurion of the previous match scored 31 runs off 37 balls with the help of three fours and a six.
Coming in to bat at number three, Kamran took the reins of Pakistan’s batting campaign. He was involved in two key partnerships for the Green Shirts, including an 89-run stand with captain Mohammad Rizwan (37 off 47 balls).
On behalf of Pakistan, Kamran Ghulam hit 10 fours and four sixes in an innings of 103 runs off 99 balls and scored the highest. He was followed by opener Abdullah, who scored 50 off 68 balls, with five fours and a six.
Later, vice-captain Salman Ali Agha and middle-order batsman Tayyab Tahir took the team’s total past 300 runs with sharp cameos.
Agha scored 30 runs off 26 balls while Tayyab scored an unbeaten 29 runs off 16 balls with the help of four fours.
For Zimbabwe, Sikandar Raza and Richard Ngarwa took the responsibility of bowling with two wickets each while Blessing Mazarbani and Akram dismissed one batsman each.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the players and said that the team outclassed Zimbabwe on the third day and won the series.
