Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reiterated their commitment to promote greater cooperation, especially in priority sectors, to ensure a bright future for both countries.
The President of the United Arab Emirates arrived in Rahim Yar Khan on Sunday where he was received at the airport by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Ataullah Tarar and others.
During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues, including economic cooperation, regional stability, climate change, and promotion of mutual interests at the global level, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
Prime Minister Shehbaz praised the UAE’s visionary leadership and its role as a key partner for Pakistan in development and investment.
He emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to enhance cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, technology, trade, infrastructure and skill development.
Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the UAE’s deep interest in cooperation with Pakistan in the fields of mining, minerals and agriculture.
He appreciated how Pakistan’s economy has stabilized under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz and is heading in the right direction. The President also stressed that this new economic force has created opportunities for increased bilateral investment and cooperation.
In his remarks, the visiting President also reiterated the UAE’s commitment to enhancing its long-standing partnership with Pakistan, the People’s Republic of Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of people-to-people contacts and shared prosperity.
The Prime Minister thanked Sheikh Mohammed for the UAE’s unwavering support during critical times, especially in humanitarian aid and development assistance.
The two leaders reiterated their commitment to peace and development in the region and reaffirmed their commitment to work together on issues of mutual interest.
The meeting concluded with a joint commitment to promote greater cooperation, particularly in priority areas, to ensure a bright future for both countries.
