Lahore: Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar has ensured exemplary measures for the police force during the year 2024. In 2024, more than 5000 departmental promotions were given across the province on the basis of merit and seniority.
The spokesperson of Punjab Police while giving these details said that 8 MoUs were signed with educational institutions and hospitals during 2024. 28.19 million rupees were spent on medical financial assistance of police personnel and their families. More than 781 million rupees were distributed for the educational scholarships of the children of police personnel.
In 2024, 599 police stations across the province were converted to Special Initiative Police Station protocol and construction of 39 smart police stations in different districts of the province started. The spokesman said that approval was obtained for setting up 19 new police stations in Rahimyar Khan and Rajanpur slums. Similarly, the construction of 30 border posts in Dera Ghazi Khan, Leh, Mianwali and Bhakkar was started.
Hard Area Allowance has also been sanctioned for personnel performing duty in rough areas. Artificial Intelligence Center was established in Special Branch Punjab and paperless computerized system was implemented. Additionally, the establishment of the District Office of the Special Branch at Murree has been completed. Construction of hostel for women personnel started in Qurban Lines.
Meanwhile, IG Dr. Usman Anwar met the police personnel and their families at the Central Police Office on Wednesday and heard their problems. The IGP directed AIG Development to provide relief to Lady Assistant Director of CPO Shaughta Naz.
He asked the DIG Welfare and Finance to provide relief to the widow of deceased constable Muhammad Waris. The IGP issued instructions to the concerned officers regarding the problems of Inspectors Abdul Ghaffar, Muhammad Aslam, Nadeem Abbas, Khalid Mehmood and Constable Muhammad Shahbaz.
Farewell to CPO Registrar
On Wednesday, a farewell ceremony was held on the retirement of Registrar Central Police Office Ghulam Mustafa. Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and senior police officers appreciated the services of the registrar. The Registrar thanked the IGP and all other officers for their encouragement.
