ANN ARBOR, Mich. — More than two dozen cars had their windows smashed in a high school parking lot and a nearby men’s college basketball game. University of Michigan.
The break-ins happened Sunday, Ann Arbor police said. WXYZ-TV 27 vehicles were reported damaged. No arrests were made.
Fans rooting for the Wolverines Washington Huskies The damage was discovered at Chrysler Arena when they returned to Pioneer High School. Police said that cash, purses, wallets and other items were taken from the vehicles.
“Everything was great until we got back in the car after the game and saw glasses everywhere,” Joe Weitz told the TV station.
Waitz, of Kalamazoo, said he took his 8-year-old daughter to her first Michigan basketball game.
“It was pretty devastating,” he said. “My daughter was definitely very emotional because she went through everything in our car.”
