Curtis, who wrote the beloved 1999 rom-com starring Roberts and Hugh Grant, recently sat down with The Indie Wire and opened up about Roberts’ stance on the sequel script.

The script sees Anna Scott’s character divorcing Hugh Grant’s character William Thacker.

When asked if he would like to do a follow-up to his past films, Curtis said, “I don’t think so. I actually did four red-nosed days and Comic Relief. We made those mini-sequels. Love actuallyand these people satisfied me.”

Notably, the earlier screenwriter re-mixed Love actually Cast for a short film that benefits the annual charity event.

Curtis added, “I tried to do it with Notting Hill where they were about to get divorced, and Julia [Roberts] Thought it was a very poor idea.”
