Mayors of New Jersey Constituents are demanding answers after a wave of mysterious drones reappeared in nearly a dozen counties night after night, inviting questions about their purpose and origins.
Washington Township Mayor Matthew Morello and Mine Hill Township Mayor Sam Morris are among the officials who wrote a letter to Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy, asking his office to take “immediate action” addressing the concerns. Emphasis on “providing transparency”.
They say the ongoing mystery has created fear and despair in their communities.
“The governor was nice enough to call me back yesterday and basically said what we all know. There doesn’t seem to be any security concerns, but that there’s really no information on who is piloting these drones. is, what are they doing, where are they going or where are they coming from, and that’s really a major concern for our constituents as mayor,” Morello said Monday.Fox and Friends”
Morris also spoke with Gov. Murphy on Sunday and got the same information.
“They are. [the governor’s office is] Very frustrated and disappointed with the feds. I said to him, ‘Governor, these things have a limited power and a limited life, and they need to be acted upon, so I kind of told him… this idea that I came up with, which That is the ‘Follow the Drone Home’ program. . Some take drones there, some take helicopters there. They have to come back to Earth, and then we’ll know who’s driving them. If they don’t know, they need to know. This is what our residents are demanding,” he said.
“I think that’s why with Matt and other mayors, we’re so frustrated because we’re getting so much heat for something that we have no control over or much of.”
