Security forces have killed nine terrorists and arrested two in two separate operations in Dosali and Isham districts of North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Inter-Services Public Relations said on Sunday.
Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs) were conducted by the security forces on January 11 on information about the presence of terrorists in these areas.
The first IBO was conducted in Dosali General Area of Tribal District in which troops effectively located the hideout of the terrorists and resulted in the killing of six terrorists and the arrest of two.
After that, three terrorists were neutralized by the security forces after a fierce exchange of fire in Isham area. The media wing of the army said that two terrorists were also injured in the exchange of fire.
It added that arms and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists, who were active in several acts of terror against the security forces as well as target killing of innocent civilians.
“Sanitization operations are being carried out to eliminate any other externalities. [terrorists] found in the area, as Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the country.”

The death toll came from 1,166 incidents of terrorist attacks and counter-terrorism operations, marking a grim year for the country’s security landscape.
