The briefing will cover NASA’s efforts to accomplish its goals of returning scientifically selected samples from Mars to Earth while reducing cost, risk and mission complexity.
The audio of the media call will be broadcast live on the agency. Website.
Media interested in participating by phone should RSVP two hours prior to the start of the call: dewayne.a.washington@nasa.gov. A copy from NASA Media Approval Policy is online
The agency’s Mars sample return program has been a major long-term goal of international planetary exploration for more than two decades. NASA’s Perseverance rover is collecting massive science samples that will help scientists understand Mars’ geologic history, climate evolution, and prepare for future human explorers. Returning samples will also help NASA search for signs of ancient life.
