YouTube sensation Mr. Best, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, started 2025 with a major life milestone: He’s officially engaged.
The 26-year-old content creator proposed to girlfriend Thea Boysen on Christmas Day, sharing the happy news on Instagram on Jan. 1 with a caption that read, “Ya boy did a thing.”
The announcement included a series of sweet photos from the special day, where the couple donned matching Mr. Best brand Christmas sweaters and celebrated with their loved ones by the Christmas tree.
Boysen also posted an adorable video showing off her new ring as she sat on Mr Best’s lap, with his dog joining in on the celebrations.

“My family flew in from South Africa for Christmas, and we were going to have Christmas at our house so both families were here. We were opening presents, and then for the last present, he asked me to close my eyes. Said because it was amazing.
Mr. Best adds humor and suspense to the proposal.
“I purposely dropped a big box to make a noise before presenting her with the real gift – it had the ring in it. And then I got down on one knee and proposed,” he said.
The gesture was carefully planned to ensure the Boysen family could be a part of the moment.
“Thea is really close to her family, so I wanted to make sure she was involved in this momentous occasion. Christmas worked out great because they were in town from the other side of the world,” explained MrBeast.
The couple first met during Mr Best’s trip to South Africa in 2022, where they discussed science and YouTube over dinner. Their relationship began when Mr Best later sent Boysen a message asking her to read his book.
Reflecting on their relationship, Boysen said, “I fell in love with his brain. I have [that’s] Everything — your mind, your drive, your discipline, your character, it’s everything to me.
Although MrBeast is one of the most followed creators in the world, he expressed his desire for an intimate marriage.
“I don’t take a lot of vacations because of how hard I work, so I definitely want to make sure the wedding is a time to celebrate with him and spend time with friends and family that we really care about. It will be the ultimate way to take some time out and enjoy things,” he shared.
