Rowan Atkinson reveals the bitter truth about his world-famous Mr. Bean character.
The actors are relieved that the role of Mr. Bean is over, as they didn’t really enjoy portraying him.
In an open interview with Daily Mail, The 70-year-old comedian and actor revealed shocking information.
Rowan indicated that he would never reprise his role as Mr. Bean, saying it was “stressful and exhausting”.
“I don’t really like playing it,” the actor said of his role as Mr. Bean. “The weight of responsibility is not pleasant.”
“I find it stressful and exhausting and I look forward to it being over,” he added.
The Black Cadre star explained, “I don’t really like the process of making anything — with the possible exception of Black Cadre, because the responsibility to make the series funny was on a lot of shoulders, not just me. ”
Rowan went on to say that Mr. Bean’s success never surprised him, saying, “It’s fundamentally funny to see an adult behaving in a childish way without being remotely aware of its inappropriateness.”
“The fact that the comedy is visual rather than verbal means it’s been successful internationally too,” added the Johnny English star.
