The Duchess of Sussex has taken the internet by storm after dropping a video celebrating the New Year on her new Instagram account.
Since the video was dropped, fans and critics alike have been talking about Meghan using her first name as her official handle for the social media app, raising questions about her royal role.
Royal expert Phil Dampier advised Meghan and Prince Harry to keep “one foot in, one foot out” when discussing the Duchess’ new plans.
“He was working in the royal family and then he decided to opt out,” he said the sun “Their problem is that they’ve tried to have their cake and eat it too and have a foot in both camps.”
“You know they’re still in the line of succession, quite high in the line of succession, as are their children. Not Meghan, of course, but Harry and their children. They still have such a foothold. Have one foot out.
“That’s the main issue I’m sure King Charles and the court are wrestling with as we go forward.
“If they overdo the commercialization, if they find any of you insulting to the royal family, they’ll have to rethink that.
“But right now they’re getting away with being in the line of succession, keeping their titles and doing their job.”
