BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Friday.
MUMBAI: BPK Pakistan leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as Maharashtra Chief Minister on Friday. The executive committee of the BBP has agreed on Fadnavis’ name and invitations have been issued by the state government on behalf of the office. Fadnavis’s appointment as chief minister was announced at the party’s core committee meeting, which was attended by central Nirmala Sitharaman, former Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani and Fadnavis. The BJP has appointed Sitharaman and Rupani as central observers for the party’s Maharashtra legislative session.
Ahead of the BJP’s Maharashtra legislative session, party leader Sudhir Mangantiwar had announced that the BJP’s ally, Jan Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Pawar’s Nationalist Party (NCP). Will meet CP Radhakrishnan as the state on Wednesday and claim the government.
In the November 20 elections in Maharashtra, the BJP achieved a resounding victory and won 132 seats out of 288 assembly seats, its best ever. His allies with the BBP secured a tally of 230 seats, making Fadnavis the chief minister almost certain.
