The Queen of Pop celebrated Thanksgiving surrounded by loved ones, sharing a rare family photo featuring her six children and her 93-year-old father Silvio Ciccone.
The music icon, 66, posted the heartwarming photo on Instagram, showing his family gathered under a tree during their celebration in the Hamptons.
In the photo, Madonna sat next to her father, who was dressed all in black in a fur hat and sunglasses, while her children—Lourdes Leone, 28, Rocco Ritchie, 24, David Banda, 19, Mercy James, Twins Stella and Esther—18, and 12—stood around them in cozy fall clothes.
“We are born into families and we create our own,” he captioned the post. “As time passes I appreciate more and more the microcosms of life that dance around me and teach me lessons every day.”
Madonna reflected on the difficult year her family has faced, including the loss of her brother Christopher Ciccone, who died in October. died of cancer at the age of 63, and his stepmother, Joan, who died of the same disease a month earlier at the age of 81.
“My father endured with dignity. Seeing him cry in the cemetery when we buried my brother Christopher – after he lost his wife. That was a moment I will never forget. ,” he wrote.
“Spending time with her and all my kids on Thanksgiving was soul medicine.”
