Commuters faced long delays on Christmas Eve when a lorry hit a safety barrier and closed the motorway.
The crash, which happened between junctions 7 and 6 of the M40 on Tuesday morning, left the HGV hanging onto the pavement below.

National Highways confirmed just before 18:30 GMT that the road was fully reopened.
A diversion was put in place via the A40 during the closure.
National Highways East Region Operations Manager Craig Sodden said: “The collision has left an HGV on a footpath which is used by the public below.”
“We have considered all possible options but the only way to safely handle this situation is to close the carriageway,” he said earlier.
