Former One Direction singer Liam Payne was apparently honored during New Year’s celebrations in London.
Annually, Big Ben and the London Eye put on a huge fireworks display. This time during the breath-taking event as golden firecrackers lit up the sky, One Direction’s 2011 hit song, what makes you beautiful There was a buzz in the atmosphere of London.
Grieving fans took to X (formerly Twitter) as they suspected the song was a subtle nod to late singer Payne.
“Call me delusional, but it’s turning yellow during the fireworks. WMYB For Liam Payne because he is our light in the sky,” one user wrote.
Another wrote: “Liam Payne’s Fireworks tribute made me cry and I’m still not over it.”
“Fair play to London! Those fireworks were amazing! Loved the tribute to Liam Payne,” added another.

The tribute comes after five people were indicted in connection with Payne’s death in Argentina.
However, a suspect’s lawyer claimed the judge’s decision was “illegal, baseless and arbitrary.”
Liam Payne died at the age of 31 after falling from the third floor of the Casa Sur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He then has a young son, Bear, whom he shares with Cheryl Cole.
