Despite recent family changes, King Charles is said to be “delighted” to have Princess Kate and Prince William at Sandringham this Christmas.
After a difficult year with both the King and Princess of Wales being diagnosed with cancer, the couple will join the royal celebrations with their three children — Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis.
Sources have revealed that after a period of retreating for treatment, the monarch is thrilled to have his family together for the holiday season, signaling a moment of unity and rejuvenation for the royal family.
Staff at Sandringham have noticed the monarch’s upbeat mood as he gets into the Christmas spirit.
According to royal expert Emily Andrews, they will be joined by Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, for a relaxed and informal lunch, a tradition the couple has embraced over the years.
Despite festive preparations, the monarch made a brief visit to London earlier this week for a round of official duties, including welcoming foreign ambassadors and high commissioners to Buckingham Palace.
However, he hurried back to Sandringham to concentrate on finalizing the Christmas plans.
King Charles and Queen Camilla will spend the weekend at the estate, returning to London on Monday.
According to royal expert Emily Andrews, the couple preferred the relaxed atmosphere of the lunch at Anmer Hall, which was attended by Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.
It’s another year of their beloved tradition of another informal family gathering.
