Keira Knightley, who usually keeps her family life private, shared the one rule she and husband James Righton follow to keep their marriage alive.
The 39-year-old actress shared that her musician husband is very particular about Christmas dinner, which may border on OCD.
The couple married in the south of France in 2013, where they exchanged vows in front of 11 guests wearing Chanel dresses.
In an interview with BBC Radio 6 on Thursday, December 5, the Pirates of the Caribbean actress revealed that her husband is in charge of preparing the Christmas feast at their house.
“He’s a cook! He’s a good cook. He loves food, he’s a good cook and he’s a little bit OCD so as long as OCD stays in the kitchen, the marriage will survive!” she quipped.
“He’s allowed to be as OCD as he wants in the kitchen but not out of the kitchen! But that means Christmas dinner will be great.”
Knightley said the kitchen serves as a boundary in their relationship. “As far as the relationship we’ve tried to maintain, you know, for a while, well, if a person has a little bit of OCD, you have to give them places where that’s allowed. And Then places where it’s not allowed! So I guess the kitchen is a good place for OCD.
“Not happy if it comes into the living room,” added sarcastically, “Divorce! Unfortunately.”
The couple, who married in 2013, have two daughters, Addie, 9, and Delilah, 5.
