Kate Winslet fights back tears as she recalls how the press bullied her about her weight after her success. Titanic.
A throwback clip of E! was played in his interview with 60 minutesin which the host said he looked “a bit melted and put in” in the dress he wore during awards season for Titanic, adding that the 49-year-old “needed two sizes up, And she’ll be fine.”
“It’s absolutely terrifying,” the Oscar winner replied, recalling a period when the media gave her a hard time by body-shaming her.
“What kind of person does he have to be to do something like that to a young actress who’s just trying to figure it out? he asked.
“I was face to face. I let them take it. I said, ‘I hope this bothers you,'” Kate said of whether she would ever speak out against the press.
Continuing her answer, Kate became emotional, saying, “It was a great moment. It was a great moment because it wasn’t just for me.
“It was for all the people who were subjected to that level of harassment. It was horrible. It was really bad,” he concluded.
