Prince William and Kate Middleton released a ‘beautiful’ message through Kensington Palace to praise the response to the Christmas memorial service at Westminster Abbey on Friday.
The Prince and Princess of Wales took to official social media to share heartwarming footage of the service at St Albans Cathedral on Monday night.
“It was wonderful to see community carol services across the country helping to spread the messages of love and compassion that are central to the Christmas story and together at the Christmas service from Westminster Abbey last Friday,” the message. I was read along with a shared video of the highlights.
Princess Kate, who set the theme around compassion and gratitude, received an overwhelming response as she was encouraged to carry the theme forward for more services as the holidays inch closer.
“The theme is sympathy and gratitude for those who have come together at Christmas services to help others in a time of need for one of Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales, who is very special,” Herefordshire’s said Lord-Lieutenant Robert Voss, who attended. St. Albans Service
“I know she’s delivering a message to everyone in attendance that will be very well received,” he continued. “And I think that at this time, as we come to Christmas, people really feel that they need to think about others to have compassion for others which is what HRH wants us to do.”
Revd Valerie Lolomari, Bowder of Women of Grace UK shared that “it’s very powerful, very encouraging, it’s important that our voices are heard”. “It’s important to know that we have compassion in the community,” she added.
The heartwarming video comes as Prince William returns to the UK after filling in for his cancer-stricken father King Charles for the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
