Kate Middleton has received the sad news of the death of 17-year-old cancer patient Liz Heaton, whom she recently met at Windsor Castle.
The young man breathed his last at his home in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, early on Wednesday after an “incredibly brave” battle with an incurable desmoplastic small round cell tumour.
According to reports, Heaton died peacefully at her home less than a year after being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
This happened when Heaton put together a bucket list of photography assignments that she wanted to complete in the final months of her life.
He caught the attention of Prince William and Kate, who invited him to photograph an event at Windsor Castle hosted by the Prince of Wales.
As a surprise, Kate and William also asked her to join them after tea. To add to it, Kate also shared an emotional hug with Heaton, a photo of which also went viral.
Talking with Mail, “Our sweet Liz passed away in the early hours of this morning. She was determined until her last moment,” said Heaton’s mother, Vicki Rubina.
“Even yesterday she was asking me to organize the nurses better so they could do more. She went out with a bang with almost everyone she saw last week at her show. had seen it.
“I couldn’t be prouder of her. She has faced every day with incredible bravery. And now it’s our turn to make her proud and give her brother the life she expects from us.”
“She was never afraid of dying but she was afraid of leaving it behind. It’s our job to make it a little easier for her.”
