ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Prof. Ahsan Iqbal chaired a meeting to review the progress on the Jinnah Medical Complex (JMC) project, which will bring healthcare and New research standards will be set.
A news release said on Friday that important officials including Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Health Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Bharat, Secretary National Health Services Prof. Khalid Saeed Akhtar, CDA Chairman and representatives of Bostan Consultants attended the meeting.
Bostan Consultants gave a detailed presentation on the master plan of the project, after which a detailed discussion took place.
The committee approved the project, and Ahsan Iqbal suggested naming the project Jinnah Medical Research Center to reflect its focus on modern medical research and healthcare.
The minister stressed the importance of combining modern designs, green building principles and traditional construction methods with modern techniques such as precast structures to ensure high quality construction.
Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) will finalize the project design by February 2025, with necessary approvals by April 2025. .
A special consultant will be hired to ensure smooth and timely completion of the project.
To make the facility more comprehensive, the minister directed to add sports and recreational facilities for medical students, such as a gymnasium, sports ground and tennis courts.
Separate entrances for emergency patients and ambulances will also increase the efficiency of the facility.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the Jinnah Medical Research Center will be a flagship project focusing on modern medical education and research.
He remarked that it will set new standards in healthcare and infrastructure, which will benefit the people of Pakistan and align with the government’s vision to improve healthcare and education for a better future. Will be compatible.
