The Ministry of Justice has launched an investigation into convicted murderer Jack Farahi, following reports that he recorded music related to the 2008 murder of schoolboy Jimmy Mazen.
Jimmy, 16, bled to death at the Three Cooks Bakery in Leigh, south London, on May 10, 2008, when Farhi threw a large glass dish, severing and severing an artery in his neck.
In 2009, the then 19-year-old Farhi was sentenced to a minimum of 14 years in prison. for murder. Now 35, he was released on license in June 2023.

A spokesman for HM Prison and Probation Service told the BBC: “We are aware of this material and are investigating it as a priority. We take any material that suggests victims of violence or suffering can appreciate.”
Margaret Mizen, the mother of the murdered youth, expressed her shock at the news.

The BBC said in a statement: “The lyrics you have given us have not been played on the BBC. Decisions about music are made on a case-by-case basis and we do not have any material to broadcast. There are strict editorial guidelines before being posted.
“BBC 1Xtra does not glamorize violence and this individual does not feature on any playlists.”
The parole board decided to release Farhi in May 2023.
At the time, Mrs Mizen and her husband Barry said: “We must hold on to hope and pray that the parole board made the right decision and that Jack Farhey will no longer be a threat to our communities. It’s only a matter of time. will reveal the truth.”
The couple set up the Jimmy Mazen Foundation, which is involved in charity work including helping young people fleeing violence in London.
