Jay-Z has been named in a federal lawsuit accusing him of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
The accuser, Jane Dow, claims that two rappers, Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs, raped her while another female celebrity looked on.
The federal lawsuit, which originally only named Combs, was refiled in New York on Sunday to include Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter.
The woman, who filed as Jane Doe, alleged that she was assaulted after being taken to a party after the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000.
“Defendant Sean Combs, along with his longtime friend and associate Sean Carter (a/k/a ‘JayZ’), drugged a thirteen-year-old girl at an after-party following the 2000 Video Music Awards and killed her. Raped with People magazine.
“Another celebrity stood by and watched as Combs and Carter assaulted the minor,” it added.
Soon after the news broke, angry fans stormed social media with comments calling for the rapper’s wife, Beyoncé, to divorce him.
One such comment read, “I’m surprised Beyonce stayed with him and didn’t divorce him after all these years.”
“If you don’t divorce this man he cheated on you and now this,” one user commented, while another added, “Take Beyonce Adele’s advice and divorce this man.”
