Regular bank closures for all scheduled and non-scheduled banks take place on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays.
List of Bank Holidays for January 2025:
- January 1, 2025: Bank closure for Losong or Namsong on New Year’s Day in Aizawl, Chennai, Gangtok, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Kolkata and Shillong. January 2, 2025: Losong/Namsong/New Year celebrated in Aizawl and Gangtok.
- January 6, 2025: Chandigarh banks closed for Sri Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary.
- January 11: Missionary Day / Amino Aratappa is celebrated in Aizawl and Imphal.
- January 14, 2025: Makar Sankranti/Utrayan Panikala/Pongal/Maghe Sankranti/Magh Bihu in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Hyderabad (Telangana), Itanagar, Kanpur and Lucknow. Bank closed for Hazrat Ali’s birthday.
- Banks in Chennai celebrate Thiruvalar Day on 15 January 2025 and Azhoor Thirunal on 16 January 2025.
- 23 January 2025: Banks in Agartala, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata are closed for Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary and Veer Surendrasai Jayanti.
