Jamie Foxx is grateful to his fans after his Netflix special and reflects on the “journey” he embarked on to complete it.
On Monday, December 9, the actor took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message with fans ahead of the release of his new Netflix comedy special, Jamie Foxx: What Happened.
The 56-year-old actor, musician, and comedian expressed deep gratitude for the support he received during a difficult year.
“Just wanted to jump in and say thank you to everyone who prayed,” Fox wrote in the caption.
“It’s a blessing that I’m in a position to be able to tell you my story in my own way… I hope the jokes make you laugh and I hope the story moves you.” He concluded with, “It’s been a hell of a ride.”

The Oscar winner confirmed that he suffered a stroke due to a “brain bleed” while filming his Netflix film Back in Action in Atlanta.
“I moved out. I don’t remember 20 days,” he revealed during the special.
Fox also shared an emotional moment from his recovery, recalling how his daughter Anneliese played guitar at his hospital bedside. He said the music helped calm his vital signs and aided his healing process.
Ray Starr, who hadn’t performed stand-up in 18 years, expressed excitement about reconnecting with the audience.
“Atlanta felt like I didn’t miss a step,” he said in his Instagram video, acknowledging where the special was filmed. “We have been saying: God is good all the time and God is good all the time.”
Foxx encouraged fans to tune in to the special, which became available to stream on Netflix on December 10.
“Grab your popcorn! Let’s go on this ride, let’s hear this story, let’s laugh, cry when we need to, because I know I have,” he said. “But my tears are tears of joy now because I don’t think I can do it.”
The actor also reacted to his recent Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance in a Stand-Up Comedy on Television, which was announced on December 9.
“And the Golden Globes, thank you for that!” he said excitedly.
