James Norton has recently shared his thoughts on modern man in the wake of the MeToo movement.

Addressing. Radio Timesthe Happy Valley Starr noted when she felt the need to be “mobilized” in light of the MeToo movement.

Talking about his new ITV drama Playing well.James, who plays Pete on the show, said, “I was interested in the question of what it is to be a modern man after Me Too, with trying to rebalance the patriarchal crimes of the past.”

“There’s a misconception with a lot of men that what we’re supposed to do is space out, step back and become almost passive,” the 39-year-old explained.

James believed, “When there were people like that in the world, men ‘couldn’t play nice all the time’ and sometimes had to ‘be rude’.”

“Finally he realizes that even a man has to step up,” the actor remarked while talking about his Pat character.

“You have to be proactive and sometimes confrontational,” James mentioned.

Meanwhile, Playing well. Adapted from the best-selling novel by British thriller author JP Delaney.

The drama, which opens on December 29, also stars Jessica Brown Findlay, James McArdle and Niamh Algar.
