The Palestinian Civil Defense Rescue Agency reported that 12 members of the same family, including seven children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
A video posted by the agency on the Telegram channel on Friday evening showed its personnel pulling victims out from under the rubble of the Khalla family’s house in Jabalia.
Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bisal told AFP news agency that all the martyrs were from the same family, including seven children, the oldest of whom was six years old.
Basal added that 15 other people were injured in the airstrike.
Pope Francis on Saturday condemned the bombing of children in Gaza as “brutal”. “Children were bombed yesterday. This is cruelty, this is not war,” he said. “I want to say this because it touches my heart.”
Israel continued its attacks on the Gaza Strip on Friday, more than 14 months after its invasion.
According to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, at least eight people were killed when a drone missile hit a residential building in the market street of Nasirat refugee camp.
