Indiechip Semiconductors signs deal with Andhra government to set up Rs 14,000-crore facility – Times of India


Amravati: Indiechip Semiconductors Ltd signed an agreement with its joint venture partner Yitoa Micro Technology (YMTL) from Japan on Saturday. Andhra Pradesh Govt To establish India’s first private Semiconductor manufacturing facility 14,000 crore with an investment of Rs. This state-of-the-art facility will focus on manufacturing silicon carbide (SiC) chips, which will contribute to India’s technological advancement and sustainability goals.
The southern state has pledged to provide land at the Oravakal mega industrial hub in Kurnool along with the necessary infrastructure and ecosystem to make the project a success.
“The new SiC fab facility will start with a production capacity of 10,000 wafers per month, ramping up to 50,000 wafers per month in two to three years. This strategic investment is in line with India’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat vision and its growing Hoi caters to global demand. Energy saving technologieselectric vehicles, and renewable energy solutions,” said an official press release.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh and Industries Minister TG Bharat.
“This investment is a testament to Andhra Pradesh’s ability to attract innovative industries through innovative policies and strong infrastructure,” Lokesh said.
