Indictment against Imran and his wife in Tosha Khana case postponed again

Rawalpindi: Special Judge Central Shah Rukh Arjamand once again adjourned the indictment of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the case related to the purchase of expensive jewelery from a Bulgarian company through Tosha Khana.

The indictment hearing has been adjourned till December 5. During the proceedings in Adiala Jail on Tuesday, Imran Khan was presented in court, but his co-accused Bushra Bibi did not appear. A request for exemption from attendance was submitted on his behalf.

Representing the accused, Barrister Sulaiman Safdar told the court that 19 new cases have been registered against Bushra Bibi. He explained that he had approached the Peshawar High Court for bail in these newly filed cases and had surrendered before the Peshawar court.

The defense counsel pleaded for adjournment of the hearing of the Tosha Khana case till December 9 and assured that Bushra Bibi would appear in the court on the next date. Opposing the application, FIA lawyer Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi argued that the accused is deliberately avoiding appearing in court and pleaded that the accused is deliberately avoiding appearing in court. He maintained that the repeated non-appearance was a deliberate attempt to delay the process of indictment and requested the court to consider the conduct of the accused in the previous hearings. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court adjourned the hearing giving Bushra Bibi a final chance to appear. December 5.
