Peshawar: The committee set up to review the security of judges has recommended that judges posted in sensitive areas should be provided with personal security as well as security for their homes and travel routes.
Sources told Geo News that the Counter Terrorism Department will be responsible for identifying security sensitive areas. The committee has recommended providing bullet proof vehicles for all benches of Peshawar High Court.
It proposed that the security of districts and sessions be classified as Category A. The committee recommended the appointment of one head constable and four constables for District and Sessions Judges. It has been recommended to appoint two constables for the security of Additional District and Sessions Judges.
One security man each has been recommended for the security of Civil Judges, Senior Civil Judges and Judicial Magistrates. The committee has recommended the appointment of a constable for the security of family courts and presiding officers.
In case of approval from the KP Cabinet, 116 personnel will be posted for the security of District and Sessions Judges.
180 personnel will be deployed for Additional Sessions Judges, and 87 personnel will be deployed for security of Senior Civil Judges. A total of 390 personnel will be deployed for the security of civil judges.
