Rawalpindi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has been arrested in fresh cases related to the party’s recent protests in the federal capital.

During the hearing, the Pindi police arrested the former prime minister in fresh cases related to recent protests by the PTI on October 5 and November 24, besides a separate case related to the Rawalpindi protest. is also included.

However, the prosecution did not seek physical custody of the high-profile accused even in the new cases.

ATC judge Amjad Ali Shah, who heard the case, sent Khan on judicial remand in all cases including fresh cases.

Fresh cases have been registered against Khan for calling protests in various police stations that led to violent incidents.

It may be noted that at least three Rangers personnel and two police personnel were martyred in violent clashes with PTI protesters in the latest protest in November. The PTI claims that at least 20 of its members lost their lives.

The PTI protest came to an abrupt end when authorities launched a late-night crackdown on party workers and leaders at Islamabad’s D Chowk.

Law enforcement agencies arrested more than 1,000 PTI activists, including more than three dozen Afghan nationals, and recovered tear gas and other ammunition.
