A stampede at a fun fair in the southwestern Nigerian city of Ibadan has killed several children, while several others have been hospitalized.
The exact number of casualties is not clear.
The event was advertised as free entry and attracted a large crowd, but so many people gathered that they were crushed as they struggled to gain entry.
Residents said more than 5,000 children had gathered at the venue and were crushed when the central organizers arrived to start the event.

The Oyo State Government said the victims have been taken to hospitals across Ibadan for treatment after the Islamic High School was crushed in Basuron.
It said there had been “several loss of life and injuries”.
Authorities have urged parents who are concerned about their children to check with city hospitals.
