PESHAWAR: The five-day craft fair concluded after the display of handicrafts made by artisans from across the country.
The event was jointly organized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA), Destination Heritage Greens Peshawar and Hunar Zone. Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Adviser on Information and Public Relations Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif was the chief guest of the event.
Prominent participants included General Manager Destination Heritage Greens Peshawar Sajjad Abbasi, Director of Talent Zone Arooj Hamdani, President of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rabia Basri, Professor Madam Tashfeen and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Saif said that a self-sufficient woman is the foundation of a self-sufficient society, the KP government said it is committed to support all activities that empower women and It helps to showcase skills and abilities.
He said that the past year brought challenges but the new year has brought new hopes. He assured that the KP government will continue to support women on every platform.
“The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will support all activities to empower women and promote their skills and handicrafts,” the adviser said. He also appreciated the role of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) in supporting the talent fair.
The closing ceremony also featured a musical evening and a cake cutting ceremony to mark the end of 2024 and the arrival of the new year 2025. The musical event made the evening colorful with performances by singers Akbar Ali Khan, Faisal Marwat, Heer Khan. and harp music. The adviser also cut a cake to welcome the New Year.
The craft fair showcased various stalls including paintings by students, handicrafts made by inmates of the Jails Department and items made by artisans from Swat, Hazara, Bahawalpur and other districts.
The participants appreciated the organizers for providing such an opportunity with a platform for the artisans from different districts of the province and the country to showcase their handicrafts to the world.
