Gypsy Rose Blanchard was worried about falling back into drug addiction after being released from prison last December.
During an exclusive conversation with people About her newly released memoir, My Time to stand uphe expressed concerns about his past convictions on drugs.
“I was worried about recidivism before I got out of prison because that thought crossed my mind.”
Her memoir reveals how she used opioids for years to cope with the pain of her upbringing, hiding her mother DD’s pain medication.
She wrote in her book, “His feelings were a whip that smashed against my self-esteem.
“I remember the first time I looked for painkillers without the pain, and it was Mama and I yelling at each other for what seemed like over an hour,” she continued.
It led the 33-year-old down a path of drugs, which she admits to struggling with the most when her ex-boyfriend Nicolas Goodejohn took her mother’s life at her behest.
Even in prison, she was unable to overcome her addiction to opioids, but it was during this time that she finally found solace.
