On the film side, Jacques Audiard’s “Emilia Pérez” came into the night 10 nominationsThe most in any film, in categories ranging from acting, directing, writing and music. its stars, Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña, received acting nods while Audiard was recognized for directing, songwriting and screenplay writing.
“The Brutalist” earned seven nominations, and “Conclave,” centered around the election of a new pope, came in third with six nods. “The Brutalist” and “Conclave” were both nominated for best drama while “Emilia Pérez” is up for best musical or comedy.
Last year’s big winner in the comedy category, “The Bear,” earned the most nominations of any TV show with five.
Gomez also received a nomination in the acting in television categories for her role in “Only Murders in the Building,” and the show received a total of four nominations, tied for second with “Omen.”
Comedian Nikki Glaserwho stole the show last year in Netflix’s “The Roast of Tom Brady,” is making history as the first woman to do so. Host the Golden Globes Solo.. Glazer also got to go home with an award winner, nominated for his stand-up comedy special “Someday You’ll Die,” but the award ultimately went to Ali Wong.
